[ When he was told he'd been responsible enough to be trusted with a newcomer to the workplace, he'd been flattered and honored and... mostly, a bit afraid to think about what this experience would be like. He's not even going to try cutting it in a nicer way for himself: he doesn't make a strong, authoritative impression, his attitude settles easier for taking orders over giving them, and he's not even very good at explaining things from scratch.

Please, god, let this newbie have some experience in some shape or form.
